Rooted in generations of Italian winemaking tradition yet unmistakably shaped by the landscapes of Western Australia, Castelli Estate remains proudly family owned. Established in 2007 to honour the ethos of father and grandfather Germino Castelli, the estate represents the Castelli family’s enduring commitment to crafting expressive, regionally driven wines.
From their home in the hills above Denmark, the family has embraced the outstanding potential of the Great Southern region: its cool climate, clean ocean influence, and diverse terrain, creating wines that reflect both Old-World heritage and the unique character of Western Australia. While no longer family operated day-to-day, Castelli Estate continues to be guided by the Castelli family’s vision: to share handcrafted wines that celebrate place, tradition, and the generous spirit of life well lived.
A celebration of excellence, our premium Il Liris collection is loved by wine enthusiasts, delights wine discoverers and impresses wine critics.
Castelli Estate's Il Liris Chardonnay is grown on our estate from the famed Gin Gin clone as well as Burgundian clones 95 and 96. The access to three premium Chardonnay clones on an exceptional vineyard site is unparalleled in the Great Southern.
Our Il Liris Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Frankland River and reflects the pinnacle of fruit expression. Only the best French oak is used, ensuring balance, texture and integrity are at the forefront. Limited production.
We are proud to call the Great Southern region of Western Australia our home. With its cooling ocean breezes, undulating hills and mixture of rocky, sandy and loamy soils, the Great Southern features hundreds of tiny, unique vineyards.
Each year we collaborate with local growers to craft wines from these hidden gems - Mount Barker Riesling, Chardonnay from Pemberton and Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from Frankland River. There is no compromise to quality in any aspect - from vine to the bottle.
The Castelli family has always been innovators, and we carry that into our winemaking. The Empirica collection is our excuse to experiment with small parcels of fruit from top performing vineyards in the Great Southern. We work with growers to identify high quality parcels, crafting wines from alternative and lesser known varietals in the European style.
Our collaboration with local growers provides us with access to fruit from many of the Great Southern's best vineyards. These parcels of fruit are celebrated in the Silver Series - an authentic collection of Great Southern wines with a focus on regional excellence. These wines are well-balanced explorations of the region designed to be shared and enjoyed.
Modern, fruit-forward, and unique, The Sum celebrates the harmony of nature, artistry, and science. The Sum brings together innovative winegrowing and winemaking techniques with fruit from exceptional vineyard sites. The resulting wines display balance, freshness and drinkability.
