BIRDS OF TOKYO
Formed in Perth, Birds of Tokyo have grown from independent roots to become one of Australia’s most popular contemporary rock bands.
The band has released six studio albums, including Human Design which topped the ARIA charts. Classic songs like “Good Lord”, “Two Of Us”, “Plans”, “Lanterns”, “Brace”, and “I’d Go With You Anywhere” have all been top 10 airplay hits and more than seventy Birds of Tokyo tracks have featured on Triple J, making them one of the National Youth Broadcaster’s three most played artists of this millennium.
Birds of Tokyo have won “Rock Work Of The Year” on a record-setting five separate occasions at the APRA Awards.
BOY & BEAR
Boy & Bear’s debut album Moonfire (2011) reached double-platinum sales, won five ARIA Awards and landed three songs in the triple j Hottest 100. Their sophomore album Harlequin Dream (2013) achieved platinum sales and the #1 spot on the ARIA Album chart staying in the top ten for five weeks. They followed up with Limit Of Love (2015), resulting in their second ARIA #1 album debut. After touring the world multiple times, the band became Splendour In The Grass favourites, performed on Conan O'Brien, and sold out two Sydney Opera Houses. This iconic Australian band returned with their triumphant release, Suck On Light, in 2019 which became their fourth top-10 charting album. In 2020 they released At Golden Retriever Studio, a series of stunningly stripped-back versions of some of the most loved songs of their career.
Boy & Bear's trademark live performance warmth and charisma was experienced by over 65,000 people last Australian summer. Crowds grinned from ear to ear as they joined forces to sway together, sing their hearts out and reminisce on their fondest memories.
SAN CISCO
San Cisco are a three-piece indie pop group from Fremantle, Western Australia. Set to an upbeat indie-pop groove on the cusp of innocence and heartbreak, this is where San Cisco lives. ‘Awkward’. ‘Too Much Time Together’. ‘About You’. Lovesick calls gone to voicemail and endless pondering of what went wrong.
Between You and Me is the fourth album by the indie trio from Fremantle released in late 2020. It was an album two years and at least one sadly remembered love affair in the making. Featuring leading singles ‘When I Dream’, ‘Skin’, festival anthem ‘Reasons’ and ‘On The Line’, it’s clear that the Hottest 100-heavy record Between You and Me tells a widescreen story of loss and letting go.
Throughout their illustrious ten-year career, they have become one of Australia’s most successful independent artists amassing multiple accolades, millions of streams and critical acclaim through the release of four studio albums and have toured the world selling out headline shows and appearing at festivals such as Splendour In The Grass, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds and many more.
DARCIE HAVEN
Darcie Haven grew up on a farm surrounded by nothing but bush and kangaroos for miles. Ther house could be found consistently blaring my mum’s Olivia Newton John and ABBA CDs. She was the choir teacher at the tiny primary school, (there was only about 60 kids!) and taught Darcie Haven to sing and play their old Roland keyboard when she was five. The first CD she ever bought was a Hannah Montana album, a love she thought could never be matched until miss Taylor Swift came along. Of course she was obsessed, and kept hearing her speak about this thing called songwriting…
converting her feelings into songs is her absolute favourite thing to do in the whole wide world. To be able to share music feels like a fever dream she’ll wake up from at any moment.
