The IWSC is headed by the world’s most eminent wine professionals, including John Hoskins MW, Alex Hunt MW, Dirceu Vianna Junior MW, Alistair Cooper MW, Sarah Abbott MW and Essi Avellan MW. The judges commented on the 2019 Castelli Estate Il Liris Chardonnay as ” Such a precise and focused wine! Crisp and crunchy with perfect stone fruit, hazelnuts and a touch of reduction. Clean and fresh with some real complexity”
Adam Castelli, owner of Castelli Estate commented “this wine is the pinnacle of Great Southern Chardonnay expression, made in tiny quantities from our home block in the magnificent Denmark region”. Striving for excellence and improvement each year is our goal, and doing this consistently is paramount which on the back of the 2018 Il Liris winning the same trophy last year is so rewarding knowing we can do it again! We have such a great selection of estate wines from the cool climate Great Southern region, I encourage you to discover what our many years of commitment is now delivering as we set benchmarks for quality in the region”.
